Palolem Beach is the most popular beach in South Goa. The Palolem beach in Goa is also the nearest beach to the Canacona city, This beach is 3 Kms from the Canacona city and 2.5 Kms from the city railway station and Kadamba bus stand.
From the Butterfly Beach this beach is 7 to 8 kms by road. There are many boats that take you from the Palolem beach to Butterfly Beach. The palolem beach is 1.5 kms in length and is a crescent shaped beach. You will find many shops selling beach wear and packaged snacks and refreshments on the beach road. Once you enter the beach on the right side, if you keep walking you will reach a lagoon. On the left end of the beach there is a elevated way to climb to get amazing views of the beach and the Arabian sea as seen in the image below.
The beach offers complete beach vibes in terms of crowd, frequented by indian and foreign tourists. This beach also has boating and kayaking options, boats here ferry you to the Butterfly Beach and then bring you back to this beach after visiting one more near by island. There are very few local buses that take you from the canacona city to this beach. Auto rides cost you for about Rs 100 to Rs 150 for 3 people from the canacona Kadamba bus stand to the palolem beach.
